Campaign Types

When to use a pulse survey, self-assessment, or leader assessment.

A campaign can combine up to three kinds of input, depending on what's been configured on its templates.

Pulse survey

Anonymous questions sent to the whole team via a tokenized link — no login required for respondents, which keeps participation rates high. This is the most common campaign type, and the one used for ongoing team health tracking.

Self-assessment

A leader reflects on their own performance against the same dimensions the team is being asked about. Useful for comparing a leader's self-perception against their team's actual experience — the gap between the two is often more informative than either score alone.

Leader assessment

A manager's-eye view of the team, collected through a separate tokenized link sent to the assigned leader. A campaign can require a leader assessment before it's considered complete — controlled by the "Requires leader assessment" setting when creating the campaign.

Leader-only campaigns

If a campaign's templates contain no team-facing questions at all, it's treated as leader-only: there's no team survey to wait on, so the anonymity threshold is automatically satisfied and the campaign can complete as soon as the leader responds.
